Barber Maharaja (Vijay Sethupathi) is caring for his daughter after his wife passes away in an accident. One day, he goes to the police station and says “Lakshmi” is missing from his house. The remainder of the plot revolves around who Lakshmi is, why Maharaja is searching for her, and why.
Although the plot of Maharaja is extremely shallow, the manner the director presented it on screen had a significant impact. This film was enhanced by its non-linear scripting method, which also produced some powerful emotional passages that resonated with the viewer.
The background music by Ajaneesh Loknath fit the scenes well. The camera work done by Dinesh Purushothaman was decent. Philomin Raj’s editing may have been somewhat better. Production values match what the narrative demands.
